With the support of the PTSO, we just finished a great Teacher Appreciation and AP testing week.  High stakes tests are stressful, but common for all of us rather it be for a driver’s license, EOCT, AP, SAT, ACT, real estate license, MCAT, LSAT etc…  Often these tests can serve as road blocks to our dreams, but I encourage everyone to always view them as an opportunity to showcase ones’ knowledge.  This fresh perspective gives relevance to the daily grind of the minor grades and work your child does.  I know that many have questioned the rigor of IA and we have listened, but I also have watched many dreams be crushed by the unprepared.  It is said that organic chemistry in college will dictate more career paths than any other course.  Personally I want our students dictating their future and not one class.

Today we had about 200 students attend school to work on their own projects.  I’m so thrilled to see the excitement build as they prepare for the Showcase.  This is a big deal, as these students have opted to dedicate their optional time to work on projects that have no grade.  This is the IA Student Trait “Driven” that I believe will easily translate into success, regardless of their path.
