Hello IA Families!

Well, it has been a special week. We closed out week 1 with our Design Thinking Challenge with the entire student body. They got to experience how we use Design Thinking to solve problems. It was a fun introduction that gave our students valuable insight into a process they will use often.

In the weeks to come will have some more exciting opportunities for students.

  • IA Olympics (August 19): We’ll have our second IA Olympics. This will be an exciting afternoon of creative games that help students get to know each other and have a fun time participating in physical and mental games.
  • Club Fair (August 24): We are committed to providing our students with a robust extracurricular program this year. We’ll be kicking that off with our Club Fair on August 24. We’ve built in an hour and a half block into the day to give students a chance to explore the clubs we have and create their own. Your students have been given the process for creating a new club at IA.
  • Moonshot Expo: 9th Grade (August 26): Our 9th graders will  work with over 15 of our business and community partners to learn about the problems our partners have and work with them to find solutions to real-world problems.
  • Healthcare Flex Friday for 10th and 11th Grades (August 26): We’ll kick off our first Flex Friday for the year with Healthcare. I know the Healthcare department and other teachers are working hard to provide some amazing opportunities for our healthcare students. Here’s the semester Flex Friday Schedule.

I’m looking forward to the rest of the semester and all the special opportunities we have planned for your students.

Thank you for all your continued support.
