Hi IA families,

I hope you all have adventurous plans for this long weekend. The students have been working hard, and as we ramp up for the end of the year, I know they deserve this break.

There are just a few things I’m hoping to get your help on this week.

Survey

Each year the district puts out perception surveys for all the schools. I’m hoping you are not too exhausted by our internal surveys while we try to fine tune our program because the district requires a high level of participation with this survey. It’s scope is wider than the one we sent through the SGC earlier in the year. I laid out specific actions we are taking to meet the needs identified through the survey, so you can be sure we are taking these surveys seriously. The slide show detailing the efforts is attached.

Cultivate: Career Fair

We are hosting an extensive job fair for our students. This is not a fair to get a job for the summer. (Well, we have that as a component, but it’s only a small part.) This opportunity is designed to help our students develop marketable skills in their pathways and beyond. We’ll have business partners present hosting workshops, resume reviews, mock interviews and much more. We do need volunteers for this event though. If you are able to support us by hosting a workshop for job skills, review resumes, or just help monitor our students, we really need your help.

If you can volunteer, please fill out this jot form.

Finally, I wanted to make sure you are aware of our Evening of Innovation we are hosting on Wednesday February 23 from 5pm to 6:30. We will have a Georgia Tech Research Institute guest and a professional from our business partner Interdev looking at the role of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity. Please join us if you can!

Thank you and have a great weekend.

Scott Kent
