This year we, Saylor Brown and Seren Parichabutr, are nominated as candidates to lead our team, Hopeful Hearts for a Cure, In the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2023 Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign. This is a seven-week fundraising competition led by high school students to raise money to support the LLS organization and their cause. We are proud to be the first students representing Innovation Academy in this competition against 33 other Atlanta high schools.

We are leading an amazing team with 7 students at IA: Sarah Small, Maddie Hall, Marakey Tariku, Julia Bray, Bornini Chandra, Noella Wirima, and Meryem Babanazarova. We are specifically raising money for LLS’s blood research, as it is the gateway to cell research which can help find a cure for all cancers! We have been given an opportunity to help others and we cannot do it without your support. We are writing today to ask for your support of our campaign and LLS’s mission to find cures for blood cancers and to assist patients and families as they battle leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, or myeloma.

From January 8 – February 25, our team, Hopeful Hearts for a Cure’s, goal is to raise over $60,000. Yes, you read that correctly, more than $60,000 in 7 weeks, which will go directly to LLS in support of its longstanding mission. We know this is an ambitious undertaking, but we know that we can achieve it with the help of our amazing friends and families.

We thank you in advance for supporting this incredible cause, and please remember, every bit counts. We are certain our IA community is the most generous and strongest potential contributor to our campaign! Thank you so much.

To donate, please use our teams fundraising link that will go directly to LLS foundation: https://events.lls.org/ga/svoyatlanta23/hopefulhearts

We hope that you will help us on this journey!
