Principal’s Message – 3/25/2022

Mr. Garrett Couch

As you know we had a challenging time recently with the passing of one of our beloved teachers, Mr. Garrett Couch.  Fortunately, Fulton County Schools and the PTSO provided much needed support for both our students and staff to assist us in the grieving process.  Mr. Couch was a highly dedicated individual that made it his life’s work to serve students that were most in need.  He was a great teacher and friend to many and made a tremendous impact in a short time on many of us.  See link below for greater details on arrangements.

Update on the process in the search for the next IA Principal

On another note, I recently announced my pending retirement.  I want to take this opportunity to share that the school system has been involved in focus groups with community groups, parents, staff and students to identify the traits for the next leader at IA.  I’m confident, the recently formed committee will find a great candidate that will continue the work we have begun.  IA is filled with staff that have created, supported, and embraced our vision.  I know that it will continue to be a place that focuses on our 5 P’s:  People, Pathways, Projects, Performance & Partners.
