AP exams kick off on Monday morning with AP US Government and Politics. Here are the details about the logistics of the exams that will conclude on May 20th:

  • Unlike EOCs, there is no make up test for AP exams. Students who are late to school on the day of their exam will not be allowed in the testing room once the exam has started. College Board has very strict guidelines and only approves late testing for extreme circumstances.
  • Morning exams start at 8am sharp, students must be at IA by 7.30am so they have time to find their testing location and check in with their proctor. Once the exam is over, students will continue with their regular schedule.
  • Afternoon exams start at 12pm sharp, students must be at IA by 11.30am, this means that students will go to their 1st and 2nd periods, check in with their third period teacher only for attendance, and then head to the Hangar so they can eat and get ready for the 11.30am check in at their testing location. The cafeteria will be open during 3rd period on May 5rd, May 9th, and May 11th.
  • Testing locations will be emailed to students the day before the exam.
  • Transportation: FCS busses do not run on a special schedule for AP exams. Students must arrange their own transportation to come to school for morning exams. Students with afternoon exams need to check the length of their exam, especially if they have extended time so they have transportation to go home.
  • Students will not be able to choose their own seat in the testing room. They must follow the proctor’s instructions on where to sit. Backpacks must be left outside the testing room along with electronic devices, smartwatches, etc… (all must be turned off)
  • Students should bring: 2 sharpened No. 2 pencils (no mechanical pencils); 2 pens with black or dark blue ink only; Up to 2 calculators of the appropriate type for the AP biology, calculus, environmental science, statistics, physics exams; For AP physics only: a rule or straightedge; A valid photo ID for FAVE students; The College Board SSD Eligibility Letter if they are taking an exam with approved testing accommodations.
  • Students should NOT bring: Electronic equipment (phones, smartwatches, wearables technology, laptops, tablets, computers, Bluetooth devices, iPods, portable listening devices, cameras, devices that can access the internet or take pictures, timers, communication devices), no books, dictionaries, compasses, correction fluid, highlighters, notes, mechanical/No3/colored pencils; rulers and straighteners; no protractors, scratch paper, reference guide, typing instructions, calculators (except for AP biology, calculus, environmental science, statistics, physics exams); no watches that beep or have an alarm; no food or drink (no snack, no water in the testing room, must be left outside the room and will be accessible during breaks); no earplugs, clipboards, clothing or shoes with subject -related information; no pencil pouch.
