Well, week 2 is in the books and what a great one it was! Check out our social media accounts to see some great pictures of the IA Olympics.

Next week, we will have our first Alternate Block schedule which will allow students and teachers to have more time for their projects. Our math and English students will participate in MAP testing, which will help us learn more about where each student’s knowledge is in these subjects, so please encourage them to take the tests seriously.

Next week is also our first Flex Friday for Healthcare students, and the Moonshot Expo for our 9th graders. We will communicate the specifics of these two events to your students, so please check with them about details after Monday.

This year Flex Fridays should be considered a full day where pathway students stay to participate in two meaningful activities. As we figured things out last year, students were allowed to leave at mid-day, but we have increased capacity, and now students should plan on participating for the whole day. Please plan doctor appointments and other non-academic activities for the Fridays your student is not in Flex Friday.

A final note about carpool. Thank you to all the parents who are following the directions of the IA administrators in the parking lot and help to maintain a safe and efficient system. With their help, we are moving over a thousand students out of the building within fifteen minutes of the final bell. Please make sure you follow the instructions, so we don’t have any confusion in the back lot.

Thank you again for all your support,

Scott Kent Principal Educator
