Ronda Harris-Data Clerk

Would you mind sharing a bit about yourself for the Beacon?

I am married with 2 grown sons.  My oldest is a Software Developer for Easy Post in Denver and is engaged to be married next year.  My youngest is finishing his master’s degree with Georgia Southern in Sports Management while working for the US Olympics in Colorado Springs!  My husband heads up the Retirement/Risk Management for Gwinnett County Schools.  We are empty nesters except for our two fur babies, a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel named Oliver and a Morkie named Tucker.   I love movies, music (especially the 80s) and I love to craft and plan parties.

Where were you prior to coming to IA?

I was the Data Clerk at Chattahoochee High School for 8 years.  Prior to Mr. Duncan hiring me, I volunteered for just about everything at the school when my kids attended, serving as PTSA President and VP on the Band Boosters Organization and Music Association.

What excites you about IA?

I love the different learning environment at IA.  I’ve never seen a school offer a game room, pianos, and ping pong tables for use anytime of the day.  It’s going to be exciting watching the students thrive in this environment once we go back to Face to Face learning.

A fun fact about yourself.

I’m a news junkie!  I owe it all to my oldest son who studied Journalism at UGA.  I had to keep up with the latest news/politics/trends so that we had lots to talk about.  Now I’m hooked.   I’m also an avid UGA football fan…Go Dawgs!

Where were you prior to coming to IA?

I worked for the Zone 5 and Zone 6 Superintendent’s as their PAIII before transitioning to Innovation Academy over 31 schools in Johns Creek and Roswell.  I was in that position for 9 years and have worked with 5 different Superintendents.

What excites you about IA?

I was ready to step out of my comfort zone to learn new procedures,  meet new people, and work with students again.

A fun fact about yourself.

I am an avid Packer fan since I grew up in Wisconsin  – GO PACK GO!
