This past Saturday, we had three teams of four students compete in the annual University of Georgia Mathematics Tournament. There were both team and individual rounds. Overall, almost 300 students participated on 71 teams representing high schools across Georgia and the Southeast.
Team Rankings (out of 71):
- 7th IA Team 1: Dhruv V (Senior), Siddarth S (Sophomore), Veer J (Sophomore), Varun G (Freshman)
- 13th IA Team 2: Jeffrey Z (Senior), Chloe S (Junior), Christopher L (Junior), Audrey S (Sophomore)
- 26th IA Team 3: Vihaan S (Freshman), Sreyas S (Freshman), Nitesh P (Freshman), Rohan B (Freshman)
We are so proud of all of three of our teams. Team 1 and Team 2 place in the top 20% of all teams. Additionally, our Team 3 was an all ninth-grade team and beat many teams made of mostly juniors and seniors (for many this was their first math competition in this format!).
Individual Rankings (out of almost 300)
- UGA recognizes students who score in the top 40 (which also earns them a coveted UGA Math Tournament t-shirt)
- 1st: Varun Gadi (also earned a $100 cash prize)
- 21st: Christopher Lee
- 27th: Siddarth Suresh
- 30th: Dhruv Vaz
- 35th: Jeffrey Zhou

We will be bringing two teams of four to compete this Saturday at the Rockdale County Math Tournament.
