Rishi Jeyamurthy is an artist, music producer, and senior at Innovation Academy. This summer, he lived independently for two weeks in New York City taking music industry classes at New York University. As part of the NYU Music Business Summer Institute, Rishi gained immense exposure to the global music industry as he met with a variety of the industry’s most experienced leaders. Rishi was able to meet and talk to esteemed Artist Managers, publicists, Production Assistants at Saturday Night Live, as well as Senior Executives of Sony Music, Warner Music Group, and Grammy-nominated songwriter Billy Mann–a musician and philanthropist who has worked with Pink, John Legend, and Former President Barack Obama. Throughout his time at NYU, Rishi took classes on music publishing, copyright, marketing, negotiation, and various other subjects relevant to the entertainment industry.
Rishi currently runs social media pages centered around music technology/production and has released two singles across all major streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music. By the end of summer, Rishi had made a second home in Washington Square Park and found a new best friend in 99¢ pizza slices.
