We hope your school year has gotten off to an incredible start. Our counseling department would like to make you aware of some exciting events that we will be hosting over the next couple of weeks, including our annual college fair and our ongoing college rep visits.
College and Career Fair at IA
We will host our annual College Fair and College Insider Workshop on September13th from 5:00pm-8:30pm. The schedule of events will include:
- 5:00-6:00pm – Presentation from Rob Franek, Editor in Chief of the Princeton Review
- 6:00-7:30pm – Meet with over forty colleges and universities in the college fair
- 7:30-8:30pm – Participate in a mock admissions committee led by Scholar Trek
We will have over forty colleges and universities represented that include:
- Mercer University
- University of South Carolina
- University of North Georgia
- Bethune Cookman
- Temple University
- Furman
- Kennesaw State University
- Rollins College
- Penn State University
- Mississippi State University
- US Air Force, US Marines, and Air National Guard
We encourage all families to attend. This event is open to all students. Registration is encouraged. Please register for the event at www.scholartrek.com/innovation
College Rep Visits at IA
Did you know that we have college representatives that visit our campus during the school day? In August we had visits from The University of Vermont, Princeton and Georgia Tech! These visits are open to students only and are a great way for students to get the scoop on campus life, how to get in, and anything else they would like to know.
It’s easy for students to find a schedule of schools and to register to attend. Students simply log into Naviance through Classlink. They will then see the list of colleges coming to IA and can register. Teacher permission to attend visits is required. This is an ongoing opportunity and colleges and universities are frequently updated.
