This past Saturday, we had two teams of four students compete in the annual Rockdale Mathematics Competition. A total of 55 teams representing schools across Georgia and the Southeast competed: 21 teams in the junior varsity level (9th and 10th grade only) and 34 teams in the varsity level (9th through 12th grade). This competition is largely team based with only a small individual round.
Our junior varsity team finished 8th place in the large school division. Nitesh Kamanuru Purushotham (9th), Dawkin St. Pierre (9th), Rishi Pai (9th), Sreyas Sabbani (9th)
Our varsity team finished 1st place in the large school division. (This team had the highest score in any varsity division!) Chloe Sun (11th), Audrey Sun (10th), Varun Gadi (9th), Rohan Bangal (9th)
In the 10-question individual around, Varun Gadi was IA’s top scorer with 7 correct responses.
