We are featuring Anika Kotakonda, a junior at Innovation Academy. Anika was born in south India and has lived in Georgia for 4 years. Anika is in the Healthcare pathway, but her career aspiration is to become a financial advisor. She says IA has shaped her life with life-learning lessons; she has learned that taking high level classes is not for everyone and she does what is right for her. She has also learned she needs to do something she likes. When asked who or what inspired her to face each day with courage and determination, Anika indicated that she has realized society sees her in particular way. However, she does not want to be viewed like that. Her inspiration is the fact that she wants to work by herself and not depend on someone else. She can always find alternatives to do things by herself. Her parents have always encouraged her to be independent and believed in her. Her philosophy is that she can do anything she wants. We are so proud of Anika; she is a wonderful student who works hard every day and is an inspiration to everyone around her.
