As you all know the FAFSA was delayed this year due to the updating of the application and processes. Additional information was just released regarding the launch and the completion data of the 2024-2025 FAFSA. Some highlights:
- Soft Launch period will be December 31st through the end of January. During this time, FSA will conduct pauses in the application process for maintenance.
- FSA has asked that students “do not rush to fill out the form immediately” during the soft launch.
- During soft launch, applicants may experience a wait room feature that is designed to control website volume.
- Site maintenance during the soft launch may interrupt the application process and the student will need to log in at another date to complete the application.
- Colleges the student selected on the FAFSA will not begin to receive the information until late January into early February, so students can expect to see communications from the colleges “several weeks” after that time.
