Congratulations to Ms. Rosner – Fulbright Award Winner

One of our teachers, Meggin Rosner, has been chosen for a Fulbright Award. The 2023-2024 Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms chose roughly 60 teachers out of thousands of applications.  After successfully completing the Fulbright course work this past fall, Ms. Rosner is going to Uruguay in June.   She is excited to experience life in Uruguay and work to implement global perspectives at IA.

Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program

Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms is a program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by IREX. Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms is a multi-phased, blended, professional learning program designed to equip U.S. elementary, middle, and high school teachers with skills to infuse their curriculum and pedagogy with global perspectives.  The program includes the online course to introduce foundations of and leadership skills for global education; a global education symposium in Washington, D.C.; a two- to three-week international field experience; the development of a community-specific global education guide; and opportunities for alumni through small grants and engagement within a global alumni network of teacher leaders.

The ten-week online course provides foundations in global learning for participants. The goal of the online course is to introduce theory and rationale for global learning and to provide specific, skill-based professional development in the areas of unit planning, pedagogy, international project collaboration, leadership, and community engagement.
