Happy Friday IA Families,

It’s been quite a week.

We had an incredible day with our Save-a-Life event which was a resounding success.  Seeing our students working together to manage quickly evolving scenarios, collaborating with other students and our professional partners, and using the skills they are learning in class to treat patients was amazing.

We also had a lot of other exciting events.

Reema Mistry, our CTAE student of the year, was the 2nd runner up for the district CTAE student of the year. She did an incredible job articulating her vision of how IT will impact the world. DJ Bassett was also asked to be the inspirational speaker for the evening. I was so proud of our students!

We also hosted Leadership North Fulton with many business partners from our community who joined Dr. Looney to discuss the state of education in the district. It was nice to hear that many of the concerns addressed by our partners, a need to prepare for a rapidly changing future, developing student grit and well-being, and enhancing collaborative and articulate leadership skills are all things we are actively teaching our students at IA.

Our Pinnacle Project students presented their initial project goals for their junior year projects, and I was very impressed with the incredible projects they are working on, from local school development, website design, academic research, and so much more.

Too often, I’ll get caught up in the day to day of our efforts, so it’s nice to step back and to see that the work our students and staff are doing every day is really paying off.

It makes me more and more excited about the future for our students.
