The month of September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. It is said that investment in suicide education, prevention, and research assists with decreasing the number of untimely deaths each year.

Our theme this month is ‘Stay Connected.’ During times of uncertainty, it is important students are connected to healthy friendships, school activities, trusted adults and needed resources. We must teach students to ACT- Acknowledge, Care and Tell. Knowing the signs of suicide, understanding the importance of practicing self-care or showing a friend you care, and understanding when to tell, are all the first steps to saving a life.  We will be presenting information to 9th graders on suicide prevention on September 14th.  If you would prefer that your child not attend the presentation, complete the Opt Out Form and return it to the counseling office.
