Last Friday, students from Ms. Taha’s and Mrs. Paxton’s AP Environmental Science classes went on a field trip to the Chattahoochee Nature Center in Roswell, Georgia. The trip included hands-on activities to support their learning about Georgia’s native freshwater ecosystems. The students canoed on the Chattahoochee River to experience the great outdoors firsthand. They spoke with a park ranger on environmental conservation and learned to identify freshwater ecosystem health using indicator species. They learned about native birds and animals and had the chance to see a barred owl up close! Special thanks to our super cool chaperones Ms. Taylor and Mr. Vu!
