Happy Friday everyone,
What a fantastic day today has been! You should all be very proud of your students.
With a building full of business partners, our students handled themselves with great professionalism and were actively engaged throughout the day.
Thank you to all of our community members who volunteered to help our students. Students get a much richer experience when they hear from people in the workforce outside of education.
We had such incredible workshops today, I wish I was back in school. We welcomed Dad’s Garage, the improv group, who worked with our students on engaging in active and meaningful conversations. Our students had industry professionals reviewing and helping them improve their resume skills. Our mock interviews went incredibly well. Many of our business partners are excited about supporting IA students with internships in the future after getting a chance to meet them today.
Our teachers also stepped out of their traditional classroom roles, to help students learn about ethical considerations when applying for jobs and creating resumes. They helped students develop elevator pitches for projects they want to complete. Students learned about the benefits of savings and retirement plans. I could go on and on about how proud I am to see our community rally around our students to help them develop into the professional leaders they are becoming.
