The IA Math Team has had a busy start to the second semester!

Floyd County Math Tournament

On Saturday, February 4th, Siddarth Suresh, Dhruv Vaz, Cyrus Zhou, and Jeffrey Zhou travelled to Floyd County for a math tournament. Results are in and IA won 3rd place! For individual rankings, we had two in the top 10: Cyrus Zhou was in a 4-way tie for 4th place individual and Siddarth Suresh received 1st place individual!

Georgia Math League

Last month, the IA Math Team participated in Round 4 of the Georgia Math League (GML). IA is currently ranked 2nd in the state (1st among Fulton County public and private schools). We also have several students ranked individually: Siddarth Suresh in a three-way tie for 2nd and Cyrus Zhou in a two-way tie for 3rd. Shiv Garg and Ramin Goziyev are also ranked individually. We are also awaiting on the results for two more competitions held this month. On February 2nd, we had several students invited to participate in Round 3 of the Kennesaw State University Mathematics Competition. Those students are Chloe Sun, Zinnun Malikov, Loku Agrawal, Cyrus Zhou, Christopher Lee, Siddarth Suresh, Audrey Sun, Adhav Rumikumar, Dhruv Vaz, and Jeffery Zhou. This is an extremely challenging proof-based competition, and we are excited to see the results!

On February 7th, we had three students invited to take the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME): Zinnun Malikov, Cyrus Zhou, and Siddarth Suresh. These students scored in the top 2.5-5% among students in the US and Canada on the AMC (American Mathematics Competitions) exam given this past fall.
