This past weekend members of our IA Fencing Team competed at Northview HS in the Georgia Fencing League Individual Championship. Only the top 64 men and the top 64 women fencers qualifying from the High School League were invited to compete in this Tournament. Over 18 high schools were represented including IA with 8 women and 3 men qualified to compete:

Men:
Zinnun Malikov (9th)
Aiden Sebusch (10th)
Eric Zhang (9th)
Eric Zhang finished 16th for the men and Aria Lee finished 15th for the women, both having a great season. Their top 16 wins obtained valuable team points.
The big story at this Tournament came from our own Anna Donges:
Anna won the Bronze Medal and finished in third place. This is a truly incredible win for an amazing athlete. This is the first medal won by an IA student in a major league competition. Congratulations to Anna for a great performance!
The team greatly appreciated Assistant Principal, Scott Kent’s visit during the competition.
